Institute for New Administrators of Color
As a female of color in education, there have not been many mirrors for me. It is incredibly powerful to be in a space full of so many powerful leaders whose stories are unique and yet so familiar. Since our identities are both part of what drive us to do the work and raise questions within us and around us, being able to speak openly about our hopes, dreams, and yes, even fears, helped me gain a sense of belonging and inclusion that has not always been present.
Testimonial by Institute 2019 participant
As independent schools commit to diverse student bodies and faculties, we see school leadership becoming more racially diverse as well. We welcome new administrators of color for an intimate program of mutual support and training. A team of independent school leaders of color will help you strategize for a successful year. Topics will include institutional culture, self-care, and navigating leadership as people of color. The program is specifically designed to give participants the tools they need to be effective change agents within their schools.
We are excited to offer a YEAR-ROUND coaching program in 2022-3 to support new administrator needs in real time. Dates can be found below. Register below to tell us more about yourself!
Program cost: $1300 includes all program costs

2022-3 Schedule
The Institute program uses an intimate cohort model to take a deep dive into several leadership topics, designed to offer practical guidance to new administrators of color. We will meet with all cohort members monthly throughout the school year, alternating between group workshops and one on one coaching sessions. All group sessions will take place on weekdays between 1pm and 4pm ET on Zoom to accommodate all continental US time zones. We urge schools to be supportive of cohort members taking time out of the school day. One on ones will be scheduled around each individual’s schedule.
